Hedgeline, the national lobby and support group for the victims of high hedges

Whilst you can completely understand how things get out of hand, it's amazing they can go this far. BBC Article.

We have a run of approx 6-8 Lleylandi trees running at right angles to our property and growing approx 60 ft high. Our garden is approx 25ft wide + 40 ft long. The nearest of these trees overhangs our garden by at least 10ft. They have totally killed off our lawn, reducing it to a dry dusty bare patch and block out so much light that our garden is in darkness by 10.00 a.m on the sunniest of days. The current and previous neighbours have for years been promising to get these trees trimmed but as yet have done nothing.

Any suggestions

Georgina, Do something to

Georgina, Do something to help yourself. Cut the trees that overhang your garden (Or pay someone else to do it for you) as you are allowed to do and stop moaning about them!! It would be interesting to know if the trees were there before you.

These bastards should not be allowed to get away with it.I grow my own conifers right in front of my own windows at the front of my house to stop nosey people looking in, and they are as high as my bedroom windows now. I have joined Hedgeline who will help me to prosecute my neighbour and do everything for me, because I am old, and my neighbour has planted "LEYLANDIS" which although they are nowhere near my house and my back windows, they are still "LEYLANDIS".I have never liked my neighbour because he has lots of money and he has made my house shabby with all his improvements. We were fine until he came and have not had to do anything to our house for 40 years. I found this website and I think that it's him. www.hedgeline.homestead.comI have lived here longest and nobody has a right to do things without asking me first. These people need telling that I am important. And another thing.Tell Jean Randall that you spell doubt this way and not her way.

Latin is a dead language and crap. Use English plurals you tree loving bastard. If you want to speak French then sod off to France. Ted Newstead can't spell views either.

And another thing you phecking green excretion, the use of French in the way you try to use it, is usually done by cretins who can't speak it properly in the first place and is simply just a form of affectation by one of life's failures and attention seekers, who is otherwise a dimbo and waste of oxygen. If you want to carry this conversation on, then don't do it here arshole, but go to my site were you can vomit this type of shite freely. That's what it's for. Now pheck off and do the washing up girly. You WILL take notice of me.I am very old and wiser than you are. What sort of phecking name is Hedgeline anyway? What's your first name phlegm teeth?Answer me on www.thebollocks.com (Forum). AKA. Hold on a sec here, folks. I'm sure no one here wants a whole ding-dong on how one spells a few words. Hey, if you want to slag someone off for crap spelling, look no further than yours truly.

If on the other hand, one has something to say regarding high hedges, or Hedgeline, or the incident linked in the original article, then by all means, vent thy spleen here ;-)

The correct url is in fact www.hedgeline.net as all right thinking people already know. Hedgeline.org pretends to be one of our branches, and is run by those who really should not be let loose in the community, however as long as they stay in their own twighlight world then they are pretty harmless, snd best ignored.

for "snd" read "and"

We don't want 'French Timmy' picking us up on our spelling do we folks!!

Quite right CooferCat. The problem is that "Phil Takophy" (ho ho very funny) with his homestead and hedgeline.net sites seems to have a huge chip on his shoulder about Hedgeline - but so far hasn't actually said why or what his problem is, apart from his random forum spamming and link farming.
Come on mr anonymous, what's your problem exactly?

Good Evening UK,

You cannot see the problem dear boy, because it is you and your tunnel vision fanatics on your tiny island who, are by yourselves, the problem. Dangerously so it seems.A case of can't see the woodfor the trees perhaps !!!!

Stand back and look at yourselves. Every shoulder covered in chips. Wood chips!

A bit of advice. The best way to deal with those who wind you up with regard to your site, or who show any form of opposition, is to ignore them. Maybe by reacting to them, you are actually proclaiming your underlying feelings of insecurity with your own "cause", and playing into their hands, whilst at the same time, giving them free publicity.Think about it !

For the record, we have no idea who Phil Takophy is either.

Thanks for the plug for www.hedgeline.net and www.hedgeline.homestead.com We can cheer people up after they have been plunged into the depths of despair on the Birmingham Blog. Nice one guys.(What a ghastly uninspiring city that is).

From now on, if you are convinced that you are correct in your views, then just ignore us and teach us a lesson that way. It's what grown ups do!!!If you and your followers are correct in what you are doing, then your site and your cause, will stand alone no-matter what "vue contraire" you encounter. It's called democracy. If you have difficulty with that, then please seek professional help. The law as it stands seems reasonable and fair to us, and your government is to be congratulated in dealing with matters in an even handed and just manner, having considered all arguments and submissions.

If you wish to contact us in future, for any reason whatsoever, then please feel free to do so through our site, leaving us an email address, so that we can reply to you, or else on the Flakzone Forum at"http://flakzone.myfreeforum.org" where we have started a thread on your favourite topic.

This letter will be published on our site on order to afford access to a wider audience.

Oh and by the way.You do not have any intellectual property rights or exclusivity in any respect of the word "Hedgeline".Should we find that you have claimed otherwise to our detrement, then we shall seek redress accordingly.(You know what we mean. Careful now!)

Have a tree-mendous day. ;-)

Before this gets nasty: Play nicely kids, or I'll take your toys away.

That said, I'm enjoying vast quantities of irony in this 'he said, she said' exchange. Keep it up, and please ensure you add a good dose of humour. Of course, if you'd like to actually put some substance in the things you write, that would be appreciated. There are some people visiting who actually do have hedge related issues, and aren't all that interesting in reading reams of bickering (no matter how ironic or humourous).

Thank you!

I am registered as a blind person. We have been talking about how selfish sighted people are at one of our weekly meetings, and one of our helpers has read out the contents of your forum. It would be nice to be able to see a tree of any sort, or just to have a glimmer of light occasionally no-matter how briefly or how dim. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. All of you.

Your champion John "Two Shags" Prescott has now made it clear as to why he overlooked the finer points of his useless legislation. It just gets better for you cranks.Did he shag Birmingham Clair though.Did anyone for that matter? Would anyone? COMPLAIN NOW to anyone who will listen.

Treeeez

Cut all the trees down all over the planet and burn them wholesale, I say. Let's eliminate humans by cutting off their oxygen supply. 21% of kids in British schools are white! Disgraceful.

leyandii

A private road which runs along my househave 40 leyandii against my own homeboarder 25 overhang in my small garden. The Trees are now over 20 foot high. To top this the previous private estate accountant says she has left the estate and no one knows who is responsible for these trees including their gardener who will not respond to his e mail. Would the council intervene. The trees are about 5 foot from my house and one foot from garage. Very depressing place to live.
