Actually, it struck me that there's a good deal of blog promotion available, possibly more than for non-blogs. It looks like a lot of people perform labours of love to maintain directories and the like. Good on you all, thanks! (which leads me on to my big blog idea...)

My big blog idea is really simple, and probably already done. I thought that you could go around collecting RSS feeds from blogs (including news sites and the like, I'm not fussy). Then, corellate the links you find, and then build a blog out of them. It has some serious flaws, like most RSS feeds link back to the same site, so you'd get around 0% corellation. You probably need to HTML-scrape links off blog homepages and corellate those. Of course, reciprocal links would cause a problem there, so some clever screening would be required.
All in all, I still think it's a good idea, but it'll take some hacking to get it right. If I ever get any free time, I might give it a go.
