I bought this album today, and just had a good listen to it. It's really good...

I'd heard that the critics had been saying "a return to form" and other things along those lines. It really is - there's a bit of Prince-slease, and plenty of funk. There are also some Prince-ballards too, just for good measure. I'm not sure there are any tracks that immediately jump out and say "commercial single that goes straight to number 1", but it's a good album. There are references to the past, which you could argue are a bit head-up-arse, but he truth is, that's just Prince, and besides, it works.
It's a good album - if you liked Prince before he went weird then you'll like this.
