The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

What an absolute crock of sh1t. Don't waste your pennies seeing this - it's rubbish. Here's the spoiler: It starts with 'chronologically confused' scenes of a bloke meeting this woman and they start going out. Then, he finds out she's had her memory erased, so doesn't know him. He does the same. Then, the next three hours are filled with monotonous scenes of him losing his memory as it's being erased. At the end, via a highly contrived 'twist', all those who've had their memories erased get their patient files, and guess what, our heros realise they're better off with memories, even the bad ones, than without. Whoohoo.

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Eternal Sunshine blah blah is a lovely film, I've seen it twice now :) Jim Carrey gets his first meaty role (Truman was good but this is better) and the rest of the cast perform really well. Although starting out confusingly it all seems to make sense as the film progresses and gives an interesting depiction of how memories effect our lives. It's true that maybe the moral of the story is obvious to most of us but the movie doesn't really force it down your neck either. All in all a great film, one of the best I've seen in the cinema of late amongst all the usual blockbuster dross. Especially good to see with a girl/boy friend ;)
