I've been reading about Live 8 today, but just saw Bob Geldof on Channel 4 news with John Snow.
Bob Geldof gave what must have been the most direct, well researched and pragmatic performance I've ever seen on the news. He spoke authoritatively about everything he was asked, and further made commitments he has no way of knowing if he'll really be able to keep (but of course is trying for). Why can't our politicians do anything like that?
