Text Message Phishing

I just received a text message from "2030", saying they're going to send me two messages with settings which I should accept and install (which I received). The thing is, no where did it say who the operator was, or indeed anything that tells me that this is from my service provider.

I didn't accept the messages, as I've got very little interest in WAP and MMS and trust these messages about as far as I can throw them. I strongly suspect this is phishing and intended to get me to use some premium rate WAP/MMS service or subscribe to endless spam or some such. The thing is, this is the method my provider uses to send me things, so I wonder how many people are falling for these things?

Same message from 2030

I just got the same:
2 messages from 2030 saying they're going to send upgrade details, then a third from 'service provider' with configuration settings. It bills itself as being from 02 (my network).

I supplied my phone details to two airlines (flyzoom and oasis) last night, turned phone off, went to bed, turned on again this morning, and hey presto. Could this be connected? Perhaps their number list is un-secure.

A while late I realise, but

A while late I realise, but if anyone else is wondering the 2030 is indeed a shortcode from O2, usually either containing or notifying of an upcoming message containing WAP + GPRS settings. Unfortunately some people seem to get bombarded by duplicates on occasion.

SMS 203

This as just happened to me and i can confirm it from O2 when sending you configuration settings. So i have added 2030 to my black list, ja ja ja
