Celebrity Big Brother

My new found Radio 1 listening brings me to NewsBeat. The headline? Channel 4 bosses meeting to decide what to do about Celebrity Big Brother. There are apparently calls to axe the show, or otherwise do something fairly drastic. Should they have even broadcast the racism? Should they have done more to protect the housemates? Oh, the debates are endless.

We have to remember that Big Brother is all about the 'lowest common denominator'. It's not about being the best at anything, it's about being the worst. This could be why the winners stay famous for about 10 minutes - they're just not worth it.

So Jade may just have done us a favour. She's shown that celebrity or none, the lowest common denominator isn't a good place to be if you're a TV station.
