Besides the battery/charging problem there are a few other problems with the iPod's software. It's still the greatest gadget in the world though.

Here's a bit of a run down of stuff I've found with my 40GB iPod, firmware v2.1, bought Jan 2004:
- Battery charging screen and corner battery indicator do not agree
- It's possible to make the iPod play, yet have the "paused" icon showing, and the time display stopped.
- The remote occasionally needs unplugging and re-inserting to "reset" it
This one might be due to gtkPod, rather then the iPod itself - I'm not sure...
- Two albums with the same name, but different artists are played and listed together (eg. "Anotherlatenight" by Zero 7 and also by Fila Brazillia get played together, even though listed separately in gtkPod)
