A while ago, I used the Freedom of Information Act to try to liberate details of the UK ID card scheme from the Home Office. I was originally told I'd receive a "substanstive reply" by the 24th June, 2005. You'll note that by chance, this is just before the next reading in Parliament.
Today I received an interim reply. It rightly states that under the Act, a response can be delayed under certain circumstances. Helpfully, the projected response will occur right after the next reading.
Call me a cynic, but I think the Home Office is hiding something.
