SMTP Anywhere with Google Mail

The Ferret has a link to instructions on how to use Google Mail as your SMTP server no matter where in the world you are. This is handy if you travel around and use a variety of Internet connections (eg. home broadband, mobile phone, internet cafes etc). Basically, it means you can leave the SMTP setting alone in your mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird etc) no matter where you are. Genius.
