Names not to call your Web Site

This list is incredible - they want $15000 for "aqt.com". Surely, it's not a high volume item, so only one or two people can be interested. Seems a bit steep to me. I'm also pretty sure that the British Library could get britishlibrary.com for less than $10000 if they wanted to via domain name dispute.

What? This is bizarre...

Obey The Suit - it's a trailer for a tailor, but it's really wierd. What are they trying to say? Wear a suit and take the piss?

A Sense Of Humour at the BBC

It's an obvious gag, to be found at the bottom of this article (about GMail privacy):

"The final decision on whether it becomes law falls to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger who can approve it or decide to terminate it."

Coffee

I love coffee. Since I've been at home a bit more, I've been tucking into my Bom Dia coffee from Rio. Last week I made it so strong I was shaking after two cups. I also didn't sleep very well, some 12 hours later. Today, I thought I'd get some instant, just so I could have a quick coffee. What a mistake - I bought some Kenco Purely Costa Rican, which is supposed to be "full-bodied, deep and powerful". I've had plenty, but it's having no effect. Forget instant - using the caffietere is the only way to go.

Iraq Pictures

This Site (via Blogsnob) is worth a look - there are pictures of the Iraq war, seemingly taken by a soldier. Take a look, and get a bit more of an idea of what went on there.

Babes Against Bush

You've got to love this. A 13 month 'count down' calendar (I'm guessing I'm a bit late finding this ;-)

iTunes for Europe - BigNoiseMusic.com

It looks like the iTunes idea has (finally) taken off here in Europe. Get permanent downloads from 75p, one-time listens from 1p and free 30 second samplers. As if that wasn't enough, some of the money goes to charity. Head over to http://www.bignoisemusic.com/ (Full service from the 26th May). (Also, this was covered by the BBC here)

(Geek Thoughts reminds us about http://magnatune.com/ who also run a nice service)

Update: BigNoiseMusic sucks! - From the site: "The site you have tried to enter requires Internet Explorer 5 (or better) with Windows Media Player 7 (or better) on Windows XP, 2000, Me or 98. Click Here to use our Doctor Download application to help you check your configuration alternatively Email Dr Download." What a load of crap.

Uh oh, the Loss Adjusters are comin' over

After my recent break-in, the insurance loss adjusters are coming over. Time to watch what I say... (I'm not scamming the insurance, but I know the smallest thing is taken as a sign that you are)

A New Flat

I went to see a new flat earlier. It's not the smartest, but it's definitely cool. Plus points include roof terrace (with barbeque), swimming pool (yes, that's *swimming pool*), garden, bike storage, and curious split level design. Minus points include slightly pokey, a bit grungey (needs a bit of a refit), not converted to proper standards (I don't think) and curious split level design. I'm definitely interested though. Might go back with a tape measure to make sure I can get my stuff in.

I should probably be doing some work (or something else constructive). Instead, I'm listening to music, finding this (which I like a lot) on web sites like this. The formula says I'm tired - a bit of a kip might help!

Small World

He never told me about this. A fellow 'blogger and I work with him (albeit, only a bit, now I'm on the five day weekend).

I can't imagine a "French geek in London" would have a website that doesn't render in Netscape, so I must assume it's something to do with Blogspot (a few other Blogspots don't seem to render very well either). Ho hum, look forward to reading it properly soemeday ;-) I won't be reciprocating his comments though - no anonymous comments allowed :-(

(That reminds me, I should also put a link up to http://www.grahamandbecky.com, not that he's even bothered to use their position of free speech ;-)

Update: The rendering seems to be sorted, and comments are anonymous (as they, apparently, used to be)
