A comment from 'robert' (aka Knoby) tells us that Flight Sims cause terror alerts in the US. The Register also reproduces the story about how the FBI have been saying "beware the almanac". This sounds to me like a subversive attempt to dumb down the American public - an uneducated populous is unlikely to question the (educated) government. Avoid education: It shall avoid ye terrorism (except it has already caused goodness knows how much of it).
